Salesforce says new scheme will help partners tap into '$389bn Salesforce economy'

AppExchange partner programme will support partners as they move beyond apps and into other areas such as intelligent bots, CRM heavyweight claims

Salesforce has launched a new partner programme that it claims will boost its ISVs' ability to tap into the ‘$389bn Salesforce economy' - and move beyond the app into new areas such as intelligent bots.

The AppExchange partner programme, which replaces Salesforce's current ISV partner programme, has a pricing structure based on a new points-based system and features several new on-boarding tools.

The CRM giant said the scheme, along with advancements in AI, will boost its partners' ability to tap into the ‘$389bn Salesforce economy'.

Salesforce claims that the 3,000 solutions on AppExchange have been installed more than four million times, with 90 per cent of the Fortune 100 counting themselves as customers.

The new programme will see Salesforce cut the baseline percent-net-revenue (PNR) model for all new AppExchange partner programme partners from 25 to 15 per cent.

In contrast, the new pricing structure will be based on the partner's ‘AppExchange Trailblazer Score', a new point-based system that supports partners for their growth activities. This includes around customer reviews and ratings, the success of their products and certifications.

New onboarding tools will also be available that will "streamline a partner's journey from idea to app". This includes an onboarding wizard, new payment tools and a new AppExchange partner programme dashboard.

In a statement, Leyla Seka, executive vice president of AppExchange, Salesforce, said: "The convergence of AI, IoT and massive datasets has created incredible new opportunities for developers to move beyond the app—and build components, intelligent bots, data streams and more.

"The new AppExchange partner programme empowers the next generation of Salesforce ISVs with a single destination for everything they need to succeed- the training to create solutions on cutting-edge Salesforce technology and the programmes to turn them into businesses with global reach."
