Plantronics settles with Stockport dealer

Headset vendor settles out of court with Headset Solutions Limited as it reiterates commitment to authorised channel

Plantronics has announced it has reached an out-of-court settlement with dealer Headset Solutions Limited in its latest display of force against grey market activity.

The headset vendor said the settlement related to the sale of non-EU Plantronics products that it claimed infringed EU trade mark laws.

It is the second time the Plantronics has made a trade mark infringement claim against Stockport-based Headset Solutions (previously trading as CommsCare), and marks the latest manoeuvre in an ongoing grey market crackdown by the vendor.

Both this and the earlier case with Headset Solutions have been settled with legally binding undertakings being given and payment of an undisclosed sum to Plantronics, the vendor said.

Paul Dunne, UK & Ireland country manager at Plantronics, said: "We want to make it clear to those who deal in unauthorised Plantronics goods that we will continue our robust stance on illegal product and that we remain committed to our channel community."

Headset Solutions declined to comment at this point in time.
