Gigamon and Exclusive Networks go steady in Europe

Network visibility vendor consolidates European distribution strategy around Paris-based VAD

Exclusive Networks has scored another victory in its mission of working with its vendors on a sole-distributor basis.

Network visibility and traffic monitoring specialist Gigamon has just consolidated its European distribution strategy around the Paris-based VAD.

Arrow has been dropped, CRN understands, although Gigamon will still work with local distributors in a few European territories.

Operating sole-distributor franchises was one of the founding principles of Exclusive, hence the name, and Exclusive Group COO Barrie Desmond said the move would allow Exclusive to throw more weight behind Gigamon.

"It's been a proven model for us over the years, with Fortinet, and to a certain extent Palo Alto," he said.

"It gives us the confidence to invest and team better with the Gigamon teams, without people coming in at the eleventh hour and nicking the deals."

The new pan-European deal extends the duo's relationship from Germany, the UK, France and Spain into the Nordics, the Middle East, Benelux and the remainder of the DACH region.

Desmond claimed Gigamon fits well with many of Exclusive's other vendor franchises, including Palo and Fortinet, Proofpoint, Tanium and LogRhythm.

"We are seeing more cooperation between vendors in providing proper solutions and Gigamon is a key part of that in terms of the visibility and improved performance it brings to cyber-security infrastructures," he explained.
