Citrix says new UK boss will help it 'achieve cloud-centric future'

Former Vodafone cloud boss Darren Fields steps into UK and Ireland hotseat

Citrix has picked a former Vodafone cloud executive to run its UK business, and says his background will help the vendor "achieve its cloud-centric future".

Darren Fields (pictured) has been unveiled as the software vendor's new regional director for the UK and Ireland following the departure of predecessor Jason Tooley to Veritas last year.

Fields was previously head of Northern Europe cloud and hosting, a division of Vodafone Group Enterprise. Before that he worked at Telefonica in a post related to infrastructure-as-a-service, and also served a stint at Dell.

Reporting to Michelle Senecal de Fonseca, area vice president, Northern Europe, Fields has been tasked with "driving revenues and executing an aggressive growth strategy".

Senecal de Fonseca said: "Darren's experience and expertise will provide invaluable support and insight for many of our customers in the UK and Ireland as they embark on their cloud journey.

"Many companies have to rationalise all of their past, present, and future investments and tie them together seamlessly as they move into the cloud. It is vital that we are able to meet customers wherever they may be on their cloud journey; I am excited and confident in Darren's ability to drive the business forward and help Citrix achieve its cloud-centric future."
