Acquisition-hungry distributor dives into new market
EET Europarts makes fifth acquisition of the year as it embarks on PoS market mission.
EET Europarts has acquired DED Ltd, launching itself into the point of sale (PoS) equipment and Auto ID market in the process.
Its fifth acquisition this year, EET Europarts will take over a team of 22 employees from Kent-based DED and has refused to rule out further acquisitions.
"We wanted to move into the PoS and auto ID area, and this acquisition gives us the platform we need to do that," EET Europarts' managing director Simon Smith told CRN.
"Overall, this is a great opportunity and a move into a new market where we will be seeking aggressive growth."
Alongside PoS equipment and Auto ID, DED also focuses on plastic card printers and specialist printers.
Smith said EET Europarts as a group will be looking for further acquisitions across Europe this year, but was unable to confirm if the UK will be included in that.
"If the right opportunity arises in the UK we will consider it, but that will be down to the seller. We are likely to have our hands full in the UK for the rest of this year, but I am not ruling anything out," Smith added.
