Arrow ECS' sales slump 11 per cent in Europe
But distributor hits high end of guidance for Q2 overall
Distributor Arrow suffered a double-digit drop in enterprise computing sales in Europe in its fiscal Q2, despite hitting the high end of its quarterly guidance overall.
Driven by a 16 per cent hike in component sales, the NYSE-listed outfit's revenues rose eight per cent annually to $6.47bn in the three months ending 1 July 2017.
Q2 net profit hit $100m, down on the $134m recorded a year earlier, although adjusted for certain items the figure rose marginally to $160m.
Despite this, Arrow's Enterprise Computing Solutions (ECS) arm's sales continue to head south, falling six per cent to $2bn globally. Its operating profit fell by two per cent.
In Europe, ECS' sales slumped by 10.9 per cent to $720.3m. In local currencies, European ECS sales fell 7.3 per cent to $641.7m.
"Our industry-leading infrastructure software and cloud portfolio produced strong growth again this quarter, but were offset by declines in legacy hardware," Arrow CEO Michael Long said of ECS' performance.
