Mirus seeks score of apprentices
MSP says it sees apprenticeships as key to its growth
Managed services provider Mirus is aiming to create over 20 apprentice roles within two years after formalising its apprenticeship offering.
The Milton Keynes-based outfit is hunting apprentices in several areas of its business, including its service desk, field technicians and accounts.
Mirus is also creating a new post whose occupant will be tasked solely with assisting and developing its apprentices.
The MSP's total headcount was boosted to above the 100 mark following its recent acquisition of print specialist 2r Systems.
Paul Tomlinson, managing director of Mirus, said he saw apprenticeships as contributing a big chunk of Mirus' growth, adding that the scheme would strengthen the firm's partnership with MK College.
"It's something we been doing informally for many years, but now I want to create a scheme that gives a clear path of development, from learning the basics of how a business operates through to specialist qualifications and certifications in the tools that we and many other businesses like us use," he said.
"Some of our previous apprentices are now beginning to move towards senior roles within the company and from our perspective to see that growth and internal development is fantastic."
