Vendor builds EMEA channel for insider threat market

Sole pan-EMEA distributor appointed by user behaviour intelligence firm

Dtex Systems has appointed Nuvias as its only EMEA distributor in the hope that the channel can tap the potential of the insider threat market.

In turn, taking on the advanced user behaviour intelligence vendor further expands the distributor's EMEA cybersecurity portfolio.

Nuvias' cybersecurity practice was created from former security VAD Wick Hill and will work with Dtex to establish a channel network in EMEA.

Initially, Nuvias and Dtex will create a group of 20 partners, in the UK and Benelux, comprising security-focused VARs and MSSPs. There will then be a second stage of expansion aimed at DACH, the Nordics and France.

Insider threats - which can be either malicious or accidental - can involve the loss or external sharing of data or an attack on an organisation's systems or IT infrastructure.

"With insider threat representing more than half of all known breaches, enterprise customers today need strong analytics solutions and experienced security partners," said Christy Wyatt, CEO of Dtex Systems. "Nuvias' experience in the security space makes them an ideal partner for Dtex and enterprise customers."

Ian Kilpatrick, EVP cybersecurity at Nuvias Group, said the distributor is seeing companies become ever more interested in security, thanks to continuing publicity on data breaches and compliance issues such as GDPR.

"Insider threats from malicious behaviour and bad cyber hygiene have traditionally been underrated but have always been a key element in the level of risk that companies face," said Kilpatrick.

Nuvias is distributing the full range of Dtex's monitoring offerings, which provide visibility and intelligence around user behaviour, gathering information from the end-point. The vendor uses proprietary metadata for analysis, matching user workflows to known risks, as well as utilising behavioural learning.
