Ingram Micro expands speciality security unit with Axis signing
Network-controlled security cameras added to distributor's business unit
Ingram Micro UK and Ireland has bolstered its newly formed specialty solutions business unit by partnering with physical security device player Axis Communications.
The distributor has been applying focus to its specific specialty businesses in a move it believes enables resellers to support their end-users "from all touch points".
Ingram Micro claimed it can now enable existing Axis Communications customers to "leverage the Ingram Micro scale in niche markets building on the successes of other specialty businesses such as DC/POS (data capture/point-of-sale)".
"Ingram Micro continues to invest in specialist markets to enable our reseller partners to offer a comprehensive solution to a variety of vertical markets," said Raj Pandya, commercial director of specialty solutions at Ingram Micro.
"We are excited about our partnership with Axis Communications, the market leaders in the physical security space and look forward to building new channels and delivering incremental growth to our customers."
Atul Rajput, regional director at Axis Communications Northern Europe said: "Today the Internet of Things (IoT) is a mainstream technology re-imagining the possibilities afforded by network devices and offering tremendous growth opportunities for IT channel integrators.
"Axis articulated a vision over 20 years ago about making networks smarter enabling more and more devices to be connected simply and economically to IP networks."
Rajput said Axis has had a focus on IP network cameras over the last two decades and has recently launched into IoT business areas for IP access control.
"Ingram Micro [have] expertise and proven pedigree in IP convergence will help us to reach new markets and maximise the opportunities that our technology affords for every corner of the market from enterprise to small business," added Rajput.
