Intel appoints new UK storage and memory distributor

Simms International adds Intel to vendor portfolio

Intel has appointed Kent-based Simms International as a UK distributor for its SSD storage and memory portfolios.

Simms International already carries Pretec and Kingston, but says the addition of Intel is part of a "strategic business growth initiative".

Simms International chief sales officer Kevin Howse said: "Datacentres will be a key focus for us.

"It's a sector with a clear challenge to future-proof enterprise infrastructure with extraordinary performance and reliability and Intel's range meets and exceeds that requirement.

"There is also clear potential for us to maximise and develop consumer, professional and embedded opportunities."

Simms International joins Arrow, Tech Data, Avnet, Ingram and Exertis as an Intel memory distributor in the UK.

In its most recent accounts, Simms International reported revenue of £31m.
