Dimension Data and NTT Communications combine IaaS assets

NTT Communications will now oversee management of cloud offering

Dimension Data and NTT Communications have announced plans to merge infrastructure as-a-service (IaaS) assets in a push towards bolstering its hybrid cloud offer.

Although each company will ‘retain their existing strategic partnerships' under the new structure, NTT will assume management of Dimension Data's IaaS assets, according to the firm.

NTT claims that the move will enable it to provide global scale and push hybrid cloud capabilities, as well as push digital transformation initiatives.

Dimension Data CEO Jason Goodall said: "Combining our cloud IaaS assets provides enterprises on their hybrid IT journey with a unique combination of services and expertise, on a global basis. We'll deliver services at-scale and provide a level of innovation not currently available in the managed cloud-based hybrid IT solutions space."

The channel giant recently underwent a mammoth restructuring programme which saw the formation of specialist MSSP unit NTT Security, working alongside operating companies NTT Data, NTT Communications and Dimension Data. The move included a huge migration of sales people from NTT Security to other operating companies.
