Azure partner doubles revenue
Azure specialist sets out growth targets after doubling revenue
Microsoft Azure partner PowerON has seen its revenue double following an uptick in its services business.
York-based PowerON saw year-on-year revenue for the 12 months ending 30 September 2017 jump about 98 per cent to £2m.
Director Phil Mercer told CRN that the three-year-old firm's growth can be attributed to the demand it is seeing for its IT services, particularly around automation and device management.
"Our approach of a mix of IT and services has been effective for us. It has meant that we've had a good competitive edge against the competition that take a traditional approach," he said.
"That has certainly supported us in the growth and equally there is a focus around security in all markets, which is having a beneficial impact because of our tools around that.
"Things like upgrading to Windows 10 and the operating management side fall nicely into our sweet spot as well, alongside just genuine growth."
PowerON, which also has offices in Chessington and Lincolnshire, is a Microsoft Azure reseller but also develops its own platforms and tools in-house.
The firm broadly splits its business into two operations: the consultancy team which focuses on the modernisation of workplaces and device management, and the cloud infrastructure team which specialises in Azure and hybrid IT.
Alongside these components is the development team.
Earlier in the year PowerON became an Elite Partner on Microsoft's Enterprise Mobility and Software Programme, which Mercer explained sees PowerON work directly with Microsoft engineers on the development of applications.
In terms of future growth, Mercer said the firm is projecting revenue of £3.2m in its current financial year, £4.4m in 2019, and £6.2m in 2020.
PowerON currently has around 31 employees but is increasing this number regularly and also engages with a number of contractors for certain projects.
