Eclipse Computers shutters premises as customers complain of unfulfilled orders

Coventry-based components reseller's future in doubt after website goes down and supplier told to contact insolvency firm

Concerns are growing over the fate of Coventry-based Computec Trading Limited after it shuttered its premises.

Customers of the components reseller, which trades as Eclipse Computers, have also taken to review website Trusted Pilot this week to complain of unfulfilled orders and a lack of communication from the business.

Eclipse's website is currently down and none of CRN's calls to the reseller have been answered.

Staff at one supplier CRN spoke to went to Eclipse's office in Coventry yesterday after hearing rumours that it was in financial strife, but found the shutters down at the front of the premises.

They were told by Eclipse employees that they should contact an insolvency firm which would be taking on the case imminently.

CRN contacted the insolvency firm, which said it had not heard of Computec or Eclipse Computers.

Eclipse specialises in PC components and peripheral devices, targeting the gaming market.

One customer took to Trusted Pilot to say that he is still waiting for a computer he ordered a month ago, despite being assured by Eclipse multiple times that it would arrive.

He said the Eclipse website went down on Wednesday and since then he has had no communication from the firm.

Eclipse's web address is still active, but goes through to a page with broken images and unformatted text and links.

CRN has emailed the address found on the website but is yet to receive a response.

Computec Trading is listed as having two directors on Companies House, one of whom resigned at the end of October.

Both directors are also listed under the name of a separate company, Eclipse Computer Supplies Limited, which went bust in 2013 owing money to a number of trade suppliers including Entatech, VIP, Beta Distribution and CMS Distribution.
