Eclipse Computers enters administration

London Gazette notice confirms imminent appointment of liquidator as reseller confirms it has ceased trading

Coventry-based components reseller Eclipse Computers has entered administration, after concerns over its future surfaced last week.

A notice posted in the London Gazette today confirmed that Computec Trading Limited, which traded as Eclipse Computers, is set to have liquidators appointed next week.

Eclipse has itself confirmed the administration, with a recorded message on its office phone number stating: "I am sorry to report Eclipse Computers has gone into administration and has now ceased trading."

Eclipse's struggles were first reported by CRN last week after its website went down, and customers complained of unfulfilled orders and a lack of communication.

The reseller also shut its premises, with one supplier CRN spoke to going to the firm's Coventry base only to be told by employees to contact an administration firm.

That firm, Tait Walker, is set to be appointed as Eclipse's liquidator on 19 December, providing there are no objections from creditors.

Andrew Haslam of Tait Walker confirmed to CRN that a meeting of shareholders has been arranged for next week, adding that he cannot provide any further information at this stage because the firm has not yet been appointed as liquidator.
