VAR celebrates 20 years in business with £5.5m in contract wins

Salford-based channel player with double cause for celebration

LIMA is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a raft of new contract wins valuing more than £5.5m.

The Salford-based VAR had various IT infrastructure and support wins, including contracts with Southway Housing Trust, JMW Solicitors, Hertfordshire Police and the Midlands and Lancashire Support Unit.

The firm hopes landing the contracts will fuel its aim to become a £20m plus turnover firm and employ more than 100 people by 2020. Operating across the UK, the company currently employs 65 people and has recently recruited 17 new members of staff in various departments.

Lisa Thornton, CEO at LIMA said: "For the past 20 years, we have been at the forefront of adopting and understanding technology and how intelligent IT can transform businesses.

"Our tailored, customer-centric approach to IT is unique in the marketplace and our continued success is testament to how we work hard to understand a client's challenges or objectives. A one size fits all approach is not our style and ultimately doesn't deliver results," claimed Thornton.

Founded in 1997, LIMA has a broad remit, covering the likes of the datacentre, cloud, managed services alongside security and performance monitoring solutions.

"The business underwent a rebrand earlier this year," said Thornton. "It very much demonstrated, not only our innovative and progressive nature but more importantly reminded us of the added value we give clients goes beyond the technology."

Thornton said being in a male dominated industry has had its challenges over the years, but "you win respect through results and hard work".

"Building a talented team of wonderful people has been my greatest business achievement so far. Our senior management and staff all share my passion to provide an exceptional level of service.

"We are a ‘people' business first and foremost and they are all instrumental in our ambitious growth plans. I am very much looking forward to seeing what our next 20 years has in store," added Thornton.
