New lease of life: Midwich launches extra service for resellers
Print and AV distributor unveils dedicated leasing service for channel
Resellers will be able to access leasing and also offer it to their own end users with Midwich's new leasing service.
The Dedicated Leasing Service will offer the print and AV distributor's customers rates for lease and hire purchases across the business' document and audiovisual product portfolios.
The service will enable customers to provide technologies across markets such as retail, higher education and corporate.
Louise Nevard, head of credit for UK and Ireland at Midwich, told CRN: "Our leasing offering is twofold. If you have a reseller buying equipment for their own fleet, they may lease themselves.
"The other side of it is them effectively introducing the end users to leasing. We are not crossing a line - we are very much trade-only - but it is a way to help our resellers facilitate deals and projects by having a leasing offering."
Nevard said Midwich did not have anything similar in place previously and since launching the service in mid-February it has received positive feedback from resellers.
"We are still in the very early stages at the moment, but people have been interested and resellers have been approaching us to find out more," she said.
"This has been in the AV market, but also in IT and print markets. We have transacted several leases already, but wish to expand this process. However, there is still a real opportunity in AV leasing."
Nevard said the new service has been partly driven by customers previously asking for a financing option beyond the standard trade credit.
"We are looking at bespoke and dedicated leasing services. We will target our customers in their own bespoke industries and markets," added Nevard.
