Top UK Azure partner acquired by HPE

Shoreditch-based RedPixie, which specialises in migrating workloads to the public cloud, will be folded into HPE's Pointnext arm

One of the UK's most prominent Microsoft Azure resellers, RedPixie, has been swallowed up by HPE as the latter looks to bolster its cloud advisory prowess in this country.

Founded in 2010, RedPixie specialises in migrating workloads to the public cloud. Its clients include KPMG, Hiscox, and Care UK.

The Shoreditch-based Microsoft Azure specialist also partners with Citrix, and additionally develops its own intellectual property.

HPE said it will fold RedPixie into its Pointnext services division, adding that the deal builds on its September 2017 acquisition of Boston-based hybrid cloud consulting firm Cloud Technology Partners.

It cited the fact that the hybrid IT consulting and cloud native development market is now worth $6bn (£4.2bn) globally and is growing at over 18 per cent - according to analyst McKinsey - as rationale for the deal.

RedPixie itself doubled in size a little over two years ago when it acquired rival born-in-the-cloud reseller Cloudamour, which was run by its current chief digital officer Mitchell Feldman (pictured).

"Since its start in 2010, RedPixie's team of business consultants, cloud architects and data scientists have been focused on understanding client challenges and designing solutions that drive digital transformation," said HPE Pointnext SVP Ana Pinczuk.

"They have helped their customers migrate legacy systems to the cloud, speed up the adoption of data analytics, and drive cost cutting, while accelerating time to market and increasing agility…

"With this acquisition, we will continue to expand our comprehensive hybrid IT portfolio and will be even better positioned to help our customers build new digital experiences and drive better business outcomes now and into the future."
