'Local option' ESET on hunt for 700 partners
End-point security vendor announces recruitment drive to boost its UK reseller ranks
End-point security vendor ESET says it can provide UK resellers with a "local" alternative to its competitors as it hunts for 700 new partners.
The Slovakia-based outfit has launched a partner recruitment push in this country after moving to a two-tier channel model last year.
Quinton Watts, UK sales director at ESET, said the firm could act as a "local" option for resellers in the EMEA region.
"On a wider security basis, recently there has been a push back against companies in our market due to the geographical location from which they come. For those resellers whose customers voice the same concern we are a natural EMEA option for them to consider," said Watts.
ESET's announcement comes at a time when data and cybersecurity are a hot topic, with GDPR soon to come into effect. According to Watts, the new regulation has raised the profile of the requirement for "robust protection" for businesses and their customers.
Last year, ESET took on its first two UK distributors in the shape of Exertis and Distology.
The recruitment push and distributor appointments are part of ESET's plan to enter the competitive enterprise market, and to do that the company wants to recruit a wider range of resellers.
"While the bulk of the recruitment will come from mid-market, there is a focus on MSP resellers and larger VARs who work in the enterprise space," Watts said.
"Our channel partners should see the move to a two-tier programme as a positive step, as there will be more resources available to them to help support their growth."
