Nuvias CEO: Big-brand signings haven't changed our identity

'It's really important we don't just do big brands', Paul Eccleston tells CRN sister publication Channelnonmics Europe

Nuvias' CEO says it is "really important" that the distributor doesn't just carry big brands in an interview with CRN sister publication Channnelnomics Europe.

The distributor signed a pan-EMEA deal with Juniper Networks in September, displacing larger competitor Westcon in the process. It then announced an EMEA-wide contract with Polycom just two months later, before inking a deal with Cisco in the aftermath of its acquisition of UC vendor BroadSoft.

Paul Eccleston (pictured), however, said that the addition of Nuvias' new high-profile vendor partners does not signal a departure from its pedigree of taking lesser-known emerging vendors into the EMEA market, claiming that it would be a mistake for the distributor to bank too much on its larger vendor partners.

"It is really important that we don't just do big brands because that is why Nuvias was set up; because that was happening too much," he said.
