Getronics enlists former BT man as COO
Rogier Bronsgeest's arrival follows the appointment of a new CEO last summer
Getronics has named former president of BT's global customer services Rogier Bronsgeest as its chief operating officer.
Bronsgeest spent more than six years at BT, but left in December 2015 to join telecoms group Colt as chief customer experience officer. He will begin his new role immediately, with Getronics claiming the new hire is "the right man to help the ‘new' Getronics fulfil its goals and ambitions".
"By continuing down the path chosen in recent years and building on the new Getronics vision, go-to-markets and value propositions, I am looking forward to further improving our user experience and helping Getronics establish itself as the preferred partner for businesses in transformation," said Bronsgeest.
The announcement marks a return to Getronics for Bronsgeest - the new COO spent more than five years at the IT services firm between 2004 and 2009 as executive vice president of global service delivery and global programme management, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Bronsgeest replaces Thomas Fetten, who left Getronics in December 2017 before joining cybersecurity specialist SecureLink as CEO in March this year.
His appointment marks the second major management change at Getronics within less than a year. CEO Mark Cook stepped down last August to be replaced by the majority shareholder of its new investor - Bottega InvestCo - Nana Baffour.
Speaking of Bronsgeest's appointment, Baffour said: "I am looking forward to working closely with him, and firmly believe he has all the right qualities to further drive transformation in our daily operations, lead the energising of our human capital and proactively promote cross-selling with our commercial team. Bottega InvestCo acquired Getronics from AURELIUS for €220m just two months before Baffour took over as chief executive.
