US-based solutions provider expands into UK with Digitavia acquisition

US company establishes hub in UK as part of EMEA growth plans

US solutions provider Diversified has made its first foray into the EMEA market after snapping up UK audiovisual (AV) reseller Digitavia.

The Egham-based AV reseller specialises in supplying and installing audiovisual equipment for business events and conferences.

Digitavia's global meeting room deployment offering was a "key reason" for the acquisition, according Diversified CEO Fred D'Alessandro.

"In today's global economy, overseas expansion is a necessary step in continuing our strategic plan and success," he said.

"Having successfully partnered with the Digitavia team on multiple projects in the past, the decision to combine our companies and bring them into the Diversified family was a natural fit."

Diversified specialises in a range of areas including digital media, broadcasting and electronic security.

The firm has numerous offices throughout the US and a presence in APAC, but the acquisition marks its expansion into the European market, with a "hub" in the UK.

The acquisition is the second in quick succession in the UK AV space, after AVMI snapped up Focus 21 last week.

Digitavia was ranked 17th by revenue in CRN's recent audiovisual provider report (available exclusively to CRN Essential subscribers), with revenue of £7.6m in its most recent financial year.

Darren Pitt, co-founder of Digitavia said that the merger will provide "limitless opportunities" to scale and improve client experience.

"We are very excited to announce this merger and eager to hit the ground running to build upon our existing international presence," he said.
