Softcat receives keys to Irish office

Reseller giant is now recruiting staff for its first international outpost in County Dublin

Softcat has made good on its promise to expand into Ireland, completing the paperwork on an office eight miles outside of Dublin city centre.

According to postings by staff on Twitter, the £800m-revenue reseller received the keys to its new office in Dún Laoghaire, County Dublin, this morning.

This marks Softcat's first foray outside of the UK market, a move that was trailed by former CEO Martin Hellawell to CRN as far back as March 2017.

Hellawell, who at the start of April handed the CEO baton to Graeme Watt, made it clear that the Irish office would only be launched once the right team had been found to grow its local presence. CFO Graham Charlton emphasised in March that Ireland woud be a "slow burn" for Softcat.

In Q3 - Watt's first quarter in charge - Softcat "continued to trade well across all segments", and it expects to beat expectations for its financial year.
