Cloud provider Telappliant snaps up Brighton-based Orbtalk
Deal will bolster Telappliant's SME capabilities, MD claims
London-based cloud services provider Telappliant has acquired hosted telephony firm Orbtalk.
Founded in 2005, Orbtalk is a Voice over IP business provider, with a presence in over 45 countries.
Telappliant highlighted Orbtalk's global presence as a key driver behind the deal, with managing director Muhammad Nasim saying he is "delighted" with the acquisition.
"[Orbtalk] is a great business and the combined organisation helps us to deepen our focus on UK SMEs, as well as positioning us for the continued execution of our growth strategy," he said.
London-based Telappliant was established in 2003 and specialises in providing internet telephony and IT services to the SME market. It had a turnover of £5.2m in its last financial report.
Tan Aksoy, director of M&A at Telappliant, said that the merger will allow the company to expand its business in the south.
"The purchase of Orbtalk will enable us to build on the existing southern England business and expand upon the talented skillset and unique intellectual property that Orbtalk has built up over the years," he said.
Brian Rainey, Orbtalk director said he was "confident" that Telappliant can continue to build on Orbtalk's success.
"The combined capabilities of the two companies will mean a strong, highly compelling product portfolio for our client base," he added.
