Comms-care MD Davies departs after 16 years
Technical director and chairman also depart, two years after acquisition by Ingram Micro
Comms-care managing director Ben Davies has stepped down following a 16-year spell with the services firm.
Davies has been replaced by former operations director Mark Forster, while chairman Peter Lloyd and technical director Darren Briscoe have also departed.
Davies founded Comms-care along with his business partners in December 2002, and the firm was acquired by Ingram Micro in 2016. He had served as MD since 2011.
At the time of the acquisition Davies said it had not been decided when the incumbent management would depart the business, but new MD Forster said a reshuffle was always on the cards.
"I am delighted to have this opportunity to head up the business which I have been part of for the last 13 years," Forster said.
"Comms-care remains fully committed to the channel and all the principles on which the business has so far developed and I am confident that with the support of our exceptional team, Comms-care will be an exciting and successful place to be in the years ahead.
"I'm delighted to say [Davies, Lloyd and Briscoe] have left us in a position of real strength from which we can continue to capitalise on the tremendous opportunities within the channel."
As part of the reshuffle Comms-care sales director Rob Darby has been made commercial director.
Matt Sanderson, CEO at Ingram Micro UK, added: "I wish Mark and Rob all the best in their new roles at Comms-care.
"I am in no doubt they will excel in those positions and will be instrumental in ensuring strong future growth and success for the business.
"Comms-care has performed exceptionally well since joining the Ingram Micro Group, continuing to develop its reputation as the leading IT services provider to the channel and as such will continue to operate as a separate entity under the Comms-care brand, whilst leveraging the synergies that being part of the wider group affords."
