Getronics continues acquisition spree

Reseller follows up huge US acquisition with deal in France

Getronics has followed up its huge acquisition of US-based Pomeroy with a deal for €50m (£45m) French firm ITS Overlap.

Commenting on the news, Getronics' MD France, western and central Europe Francis Weill said: "With three of its 20 European datacentres based in France, Getronics was already a well-established entity.

"Now, thanks to the acquisition, we will be able to serve our customers even better with a broader offer of end-to-end solutions in terms of integration, business software tools (for airports and health systems, for example), multi-cloud management and unified communication."

In a sit-down with CEO Nana Baffour soon after he took the reins in September last year, CRN sister publication Channelnomics Europe learned that Baffour anticipated early on that "70 per cent of the firm's growth will come from acquisition."

Indeed, Baffour has made good on that strategy, leading Getronics on an aggressive acquisition spree in 2018.

The Netherlands-based services firm has already surpassed its 2020 goal to hit $1bn in revenues in a stroke with its acquisition of US giant Pomeroy last month.

Getronics now claims consolidated revenues of $1.3bn.

As far as future expansion is concerned, Baffour has previously hinted that Spain is a growth target for Getronics within EMEA.
