Resellers selected for £50m education framework

Bytes, Stone and Softcat among successful bidders

A host of resellers including Bytes, Stone and Softcat have been selected for a public sector framework worth £50m.

The Software Licences and Associated Services for Academies and Schools framework, run by Crescent Purchasing Consortium, is divided into four lots: Microsoft, Adobe, Off-the-Shelf Software and One-Stop Shop.

Each lot is estimated to be worth £12.5m.

The procurement vehicle launched earlier this month and will run for an initial two-year period, with two optional one-year extensions available.

The Microsoft and Adobe lots will see partners supply and renew licences, as well as provide relevant services.

The Off-the-Shelf Software lot will be used to supply software from a range of other vendors.

The fourth lot is awarded to suppliers that are included in all three other lots. These are Bechtle, Insight, Phoenix, Softcat and Stone.

Simon Harbridge, CEO at Stone, said that the firm's inclusion on all four lots of the framework is proof of the success they are seeing in the education software space.

"We were selling software to schools before because that is a big part of our business, but this has cemented us alongside some much larger players," he said.

"It emphasises that we are one of the go-to companies.

"We have worked really hard over the years to gradually increase our presence in our vertical markets and each time we get on one of these frameworks it is building our route to market."
