Crayon drafted in as global Facebook reseller

Deal sees Crayon resell Workplace by Facebook and also act as distributor for other partners

Norwegian channel giant Crayon has inked a deal to become a global reseller for Workplace by Facebook.

The software asset management specialist will train customers on how Facebook's corporate collaboration and communication tool can help them to draw upon existing investments in IT, while connecting to other applications.

The firm will also act as an aggregator and distributor of Workplace for other partners.

Crayon CEO Rune Syversen said that the move was driven by customer demand for communication solutions to work within existing enterprise IT.

"Our customers are increasingly demanding new ways in which to collaborate, share ideas and work streams across time zones, language barriers and vast distances in real-time," he said.

"Workplace from Facebook allows them to do this, either as a standalone solution or by integrating with other best of breed IT apps.

"For example, Crayon has blended the rich intuitive user experience of Facebook with Microsoft's expertise and heritage within the office environment to create an integrated solution, TeamWork360, which provides businesses with a new dynamic when it comes to improving productivity and collaboration."

Crayon is a top Microsoft partner, and despite diversifying in the last couple of years, remains Microsoft-centric.

Speaking to CRN sister publication Channelomics Europe earlier in the year, CEO Syversen claimed that as vendors become more strategic with fewer partners, "chosen ones" like Crayon will benefit by continuing to take on more and more deals.
