Irish MSPs merge in 'transformational deal'

Trilogy creates €20m-revenue MSP powerhouse with swoop on 40-person cybersecurity specialist Zinopy

Ireland-based managed services provider Trilogy Technologies has almost doubled in size after announcing a "transformational deal" for cybersecurity specialist Zinopy Security.

Trilogy's headcount will vault from 60 to 100 and its revenues to €20m (£17.7m) as a result of the acquisition, which follows its purchase of London-based B2Lateral in 2014.

With 40 staff, Zinopy is "one of the most highly regarded specialist IT security brands in the country", according to Trilogy managing director Edel Creely.

The acquisition will add managed security might to the arsenal of Dublin-based Trilogy, which already claims it is Ireland's "leading provider of remote IT managed services".

Following the acquisition, Trilogy will relocate to a new 8,500 sq ft office in Park West, Dublin.

"Trilogy is already Ireland's leading provider of remote IT managed services and together the group is well placed to take advantage of the significant growth opportunities in managed IT services domestically and in the much larger UK market, where we now have new opportunities to build on our existing footprint."

Founded in 2010, Dublin-based Zinopy is no stranger to mergers, having swallowed fellow Irish MSP Maxima in 2012.

"Digital transformation, cyberattacks and GDPR requirements have created greater awareness among boards of directors to ensure their businesses are adequately prepared and protected and we see strong growth opportunities in these areas for the enlarged group going forward," Creely said.
