Extreme Networks partners offered trade-in sweetener

Customers offered trade-in discount of up to 30 per cent as part of vendor's new channel recruitment programme

Extreme Networks is seeking to lure new reseller partners with a refreshed channel programme and a special promotion targeting customers.

The networking vendor is offering customers 30 per cent off new products if they trade in between now and 30 January 2019.

The offer is exclusive to UK reseller partners and is conducted through its distributor Tech Data. It includes switching, routing and wireless products.

The vendor claims its new Extreme Partner Network programme will deliver new initiatives and incentives that will reward partner performance, provide greater differentiation and fuel business growth.

Extreme is closing in on the $1bn-revenue mark, with its recent acquisitions of Brocade's networking arm, Zebra's LAN business and Avaya's networking assets propelling annual sales 62 per cent to $983m (£755m) in its year to 30 June 2018. Despite this, its full-year results fell short of investor expectations, and its share price now stands at a third of its maximum value in January.

Tony Swinburn, business development manager for advanced solutions in enterprise networking at Tech Data UK, said: "We've invested strongly in Extreme Networks and we are ready to help partners get enabled and to accelerate their sales.

"Extreme is pushing the boundaries of 'customer-driven networking', delivering solutions that make networks simpler, faster, more agile and secure.

"These ambitions align perfectly with the trusted adviser approach that Tech Data is now taking right across its business, helping resellers to grow sales, enhance profitability, reduce costs and drive customer satisfaction.

"As well as the new partner programme and the benefits that delivers, becoming an Extreme partner will give enterprise resellers a clear differentiation."
