Start-up pledging to solve 'document anarchy' raises $15m

Danish vendor Templafy promises to accelerate growth on back of $15m funding injection

A rapidly expanding Danish document management start-up has pledged to use its latest funding round to supercharge its growth.

Templafy has raised an additional $15m in its Series B round, bringing the total it has raised this year to $32.2m and the total since it was founded in 2014 to $40.2m.

The Copenhagen-based outfit, which opened its first US office last month and in August acquired Berlin-based SlideProof, bills itself as a leader in enterprise template management and document management and claims its solution "solves document anarchy".

Templafy - whose reseller partners include Danish reseller Atea - claims it has tripled its revenue in the last year and has now sold over 600,000 Templafy licenses.

Insight Partners led an initial $17.2m Series B Funding round in February and is one of the investors involved in the latest injection.

"Templafy's impressive growth and strong 2018 is a testament to the company's innovative platform in the enterprise content management space," said Jeff Horing, founder and managing director at Insight Venture Partners. "Insight is excited to participate in this additional round of funding to continue to capitalize on Templafy's growth opportunities and advance its leadership."

"Our investors understand the need for solving Document Anarchy just as much as our customers, which puts our solution in a central place in today's enterprise software ecosystem," said Jesper Theill Eriksen, CEO at Templafy. "This additional investment validates our strong backing and the power behind our product."
