Microsoft announces two new Microsoft 365 bundles

Two security-focused options will be available next month

Microsoft is to launch two new security bundles next month as part of its Microsoft 365 subscription service.

The Identity and Threat Management Protection package will contain security offerings across Windows 10 and enterprise mobility, including Microsoft Threat Protection, Azure Advanced Threat Protection (ATP), Defender ATP and Office 365 ATP.

The second package - Information Protection and Compliance - contains Azure Information Protection and Office 365 Advanced Compliance, and is designed to perform ongoing risk assessments.

The first bundle will be available for $12 (£9.53) per user per month, with the second priced at $10. The blog post announcing the packages does not specify if they will be available in the UK, but CRN has contacted Microsoft for clarification.

Microsoft said it is targeting businesses that are not using the top-of-the-range Microsoft 365 E5 bundle, which already includes the capabilities. Microsoft 365 is currently available in three variants.

The firm's corporate VP Ron Markezich said: "A big driver of customer adoption of Microsoft 365 is the need for security and compliance solutions in an age of increasingly sophisticated cybersecurity threats, as well as complex information protection needs due to regulations such as GDPR.

"As we speak to customers about the future of work, we know security and compliance are some of the highest organisational priorities and we hope these new offerings will help them achieve their security and compliance goals."

Microsoft 365 was launched at Inspire 2017 and pulls together the likes of Office 365, Windows, and various other products. Last year Nadella claimed Microsoft 365 is now a multibillion-dollar business.

The vendor also launched Microsoft Managed Desktop last year, which includes device-as-a-service and Microsoft 365.
