Acquisitive ExcelRedstone snaps up 'Ireland's largest infrastructure' firm

Irish firm Kedington joins ExcelRedstone to create 'market-leading company'

Infrastructure provider ExcelRedstone has continued its acquisition spree with a deal for Irish firm Kedington.

ExcelRedstone claims that Kedington is "Ireland's largest IT network infrastructure solutions company", with offices in Dublin, Cork, Limerick, Derry and Belfast, as well as in Copenhagen.

The firm proides network solutions, cabling and datacentre engineering services.

Barry Horgan, CEO at ExcelRedstone, said: "There is a clear and compelling alignment between ExcelRedstone and Kedington, both in the range of services we offer and in our shared values of customer service, quality and innovation.

"By bringing these businesses together we are creating a market-leading company that will offer a well-established customer base a wider range of services and an even greater degree of excellence, as we leverage all the expertise within the expanded group.

"With Kedington's strong position in the vibrant market in Ireland, plus additional European footholds including routes into the Nordic economies, we are also building a robust platform from which ExcelRedstone [and] Kedington can become the leading IT infrastructure provider across the EMEA region and beyond."

ExcelRedstone was formed last year when its predecessor, Excel IT, acquired two businesses from RedstoneConnect for £21.6m.

The deal saw RedstoneConnect left with just its software development arm, while Excel took on its managed services and systems integrations divisions which turned over a combined £30m in RedstoneConnect's last financial year.

Excel IT, which turned over £22.9m in the year ending 31 March 2017, then rebranded to RedstoneConnect.

Kedington will continue to trade under its own name.

Managing director Matt Porter said: "We are proud to have built Kedington into a business which counts among its customers some of the world's largest corporate enterprises and datacentre technology providers.

"However, we recognise that these customers increasingly need partners capable of fully supporting them as they grow, not only in Ireland but globally.

"As part of ExcelRedstone, Kedington will now be able to provide our customers with the scale, breadth of capability and international dimension that they now require."
