Google hikes G Suite prices
Tech giant says 20 per cent rise will 'reflect value' of the portfolio
Google has announced the first price rises for its G Suite, with the increases coming into effect on 2 April.
The changes will see the G Suite Basic Edition increase by $1 to $6 (£4.65) per user per month, while G Suite Business Edition will increase $2 to $12 per user per month.
Google said the price rises will apply globally.
In a blog post, the tech giant said the first prices for its cloud offering reflect developments made over its decade-long life.
"Over the last 10 years, G Suite has grown to provide more tools, functionality and value to help businesses transform the way they work.
"The one thing that hasn't changed over this time is price.
"These increases will apply globally, with local market adjustments for certain regions. Pricing for G Suite Enterprise Edition customers will not change."
Customers buying the two affected packages on a monthly plan will see their prices increase on 2 April, while those paying annually will see their prices rise for their first renewal after the same date.
G Suite includes a range of Google products including Gmail, Docs, Drive and Hangouts.
Google claims that around four million organisations use the portfolio.
