Meet the UK channel's most disruptive, most profitable and fastest-growing firms
CRN Rising Stars report features channel Profit Index and also picks out some of the industry's fastest-growing and innovative firms
The technology industry is moving at lightning speed, so it's perhaps no surprise that the UK IT channel plays host to some of the country's most vibrant and exciting firms.
Readers will be used to seeing a succession of resellers' and MSPs' names up in lights in various profit and growth league tables from the likes of the Sunday Times and Deloitte.
But now the channel has its very own supplement highlighting its most profitable, highest-growth and most innovative firms in the form of CRN Rising Stars, in partnership with Agilitas.
The report can be viewed here.
Rising Stars draws on the data in CRN's VAR 300 report, which tracks the 300 largest UK resellers, MSPs and consultancies on our radar, from £1.5bn-revenue giant Computacenter to firms in the sub-£10m revenue bracket.
Pushing the boundary
Resellers and MSPs have never been under greater pressure to reinvent themselves, as more revenues move to the cloud and margins in their traditional stomping ground continue to contract.
This section examines the forces at change in play in the channel, and profile seven firms that are tackling these forces of change head on by pushing the boundary in areas such as intellectual property development, peer-to-peer relationships, moving to recurring revenue models or reinventing themselves as cloud migration specialists.
Profit Index
With margins coming under increasing strain, the maxim that ‘sales are vanity and profits are sanity' has never rung truer in the industry.
In an industry first, CRN Rising Stars ranks and profiles the UK's 30 most profitable resellers, MSPs and consultancies.
This profit league table is based on a combination of absolute and relative profits, meaning that the likes of Softcat, Computacenter and CDW are joined by some lesser-known names.
Ones to Watch
The UK's top ten resellers may have generated 81 per cent of the wider top 300's £19.4bn revenues, but that shouldn't mask the ambition of some of the channel's smaller but emerging players.
The Ones to Watch section profiles seven of the industry's fastest-growing and most ambitious outfits.
Firms featured in the report include: Softcat, Adept Technology Group, ANS, New Signature UK, DTP, Invenio Business Solutions, Arrow Business Communications, Computerworld, Xeretec, Roc Technologies, Aspire Technology Solutions, IT Lab, Connect Managed Services, ExcelRedstone, Novosco and Communicate Technology.
