Which reseller has become an HP for Education partner?

VAR joins exclusive group including Softcat, Insight and XMA

Stone Group has become the 22nd HP for Education partner, joining the likes of Softcat, Insight, XMA and Academia.

The programme sees schools in the UK awarded credits when they buy HP gear, which can be used to buy other products.

Stone said that, via the HP for Education programme, education establishments can trade in old devices for new models, and in doing so earn rewards.

These rewards include cash rebates and support services.

Stone CEO Simon Harbridge said: "Offering customers the choice to work with us via HP promotes sustainability and affordability, something we are passionate about at Stone.

"We already work very closely with HP, and the HP for Education programme allows Stone to provide customers the very best technology while also helping to balance their budgets."

At last month's Bett show HP's UK channel boss Neil Sawyer said the vendor would be investing a record £4m in the programme, which sees it work with 6,000 schools.

On Stone during the select group of partners on the programme, Sawyer said: "At HP we recognise that, with tight budgets, schools have to make difficult decisions every year between buying much-needed education hardware or investing in software such as education programmes and training courses.

"We want to stop schools from being forced to minimise their IT assets or forgo software purchases in order to invest in vital education technology."
