SCC bolsters presence in Leeds with second office
New office gives room to accommodate 40 new employees
IT reseller and services giant SCC is strengthening its foothold in Leeds with a new office.
The firm says it chose to bolster its Yorkshire presence because of the city's "thriving" technical, professional services and finance sectors.
The new facility will accommodate sales and administration activities, while its first Leeds office will be used for engineering and technical purposes.
The premises are located at the 1 Wellington Place development, which is already home to 30 other businesses, including Equifax and Sky Betting and Gaming.
The space will host 10 staff members, and SCC said it provides room to grow that number to 40 employees.
The new office marks the eleventh location for the Birmingham-headquartered VAR.
Its other UK offices are located in London, Belfast, Bracknell, Glasgow, London, Livingston, Warrington, Newcastle, Nottingham and Bristol.
James Rigby, SCC chief executive, said: "I'm delighted that 1 Wellington Place will be home to our new Leeds office.
"Of all the sites we looked at in Leeds, Wellington Place was chosen thanks to its modern working environment and unrivalled amenities, including green space, community events and close proximity to transport links, which will help us to attract new and valued talent."
Wellington Place is managed by MEPC, a development and asset management agency.
James Dipple, CEO of MEPC, said: "We're thrilled to be able to announce that SCC will be joining our ever-growing community here at Wellington Place.
"Tech and IT solutions are vitally important to the Leeds economy as it cements itself as the professional services capital of the North.
"We'd like to wish SCC every success with its new Leeds office, and we look forward to welcoming many more new businesses to the community at Wellington Place, as the development continues to expand."
