NTT Security swoops for WhiteHat

NTT says WhiteHat will operate as an independent subsidiary

NTT Security has announced it is to acquire application security company, WhiteHat Security.

The Californian vendor is a specialist in DevSecOps and has its own cloud-based application security platform.

NTT Security CEO, Katsumi Nakata, said that once WhiteHat's solutions are integrated into NTT Security, it will deliver an end-to-end security platform.

"NTT Security's overarching goal is to provide comprehensive, game-changing cybersecurity solutions that address the broader needs of digital transformation," he said.

"WhiteHat is recognised globally as a leader and pioneer in the application security cloud services and DevSecOps spaces."

Japan-based NTT Security says that WhiteHat Security will continue to remain independent and operate as a subsidiary of NTT Security.

NTT is currently in the process of rolling a number of its businesses into one organisation.

The cost of the deal has not been revealed, and WhiteHat is privately owned. However, the vendor has raised $50.6m in funding since 2013.

The vendor is the NTT Group's second acquisition this week. On Monday, NTT Communication acquired a majority stake in French telecoms firm Transatel.
