Our Top VARs panellists explain how they are addressing the challenges posed by a lack of candidates

Recruiting and retaining the best people in the IT sector is a challenge facing all in the channel.

In the second episode of our Top VARs roundtable, sponsored by Comms-care, our panel of top channel execs discuss the plans they have put in place to get skilled people into their organisations, at a time when their business models are changing.

Natalie Matthews (pictured), COO at Logicalis, said the firm has placed an increased emphasis on developing the skills of people already inside the business.

"We have grad programmes to try to bring young talent in the business to develop them, so that has been an area of success for us," she said.

"We have also been focusing on the skills that we already have in the business and trying to, where possible, promote from within, and then develop people's skills."
