HPE zones in on customers' hybrid cloud strategies with latest offering

Vendor claims its Right Mix Advisor initiative can reduce costs by up to 40 per cent

HPE has hailed its new Right Mix Advisor offering is an "industry first" to aid businesses in developing their hybrid cloud strategies.

The initiative recommends appropriate workloads and applications to aid customers in their move to public clouds, as well as how to migrate those workloads to attain the right mix of hybrid cloud catered to the specific needs of the business.

Right Mix Advisor helps businesses that struggle to identify the correct mix for their hybrid cloud, which can occur due to their environmental complexity, as well as the rapid pace of digital transformation, according to HPE.

The vendor claimed that the offering can increase cost-savings by up to 40 per cent, as half of the applications can be moved to a public or private cloud model and the rest can be made "more cloud-like" through the use of automation and as-a-service models.

Erik Vogel, global VP for Hybrid Cloud at HPE Pointnext, said: "HPE Right Mix Advisor helps organisations get the insight and methodology that they need to drive innovation, deliver predictable optimised customer experiences and remain competitive."

The process will operate via team members of HPE Pointnext - the vendor's hybrid IT wing - who will analyse the customer's data to produce a recommendation of the right workload placement strategy, a plan to achieve it and the tools and knowledge to make it happen.

Jed Scaramella, programme director of infrastructure services at IDC, stated: "Past approaches that relied on best practices and manual analysis are now too costly and time consuming."

"IT executives have noted to us that identifying the optimal fit for their individual workloads is one of their top challenges today."
