Computacenter takes 'giant leap' with new integration centre
Mike Norris cuts the ribbon on €50m investment after opening US office last week
Computacenter has made a "giant leap" after its CEO Mike Norris opened a new integration centre at its German headquarters in Kerpen.
The 8,200 square metre facility boasts 36 meeting rooms and space for 600 employees. It will offer configuration services for workplace, networking and datacentre components.
In a LinkedIn post, group chief commercial officer Kevin James described the opening as a "giant leap" for the reseller behemoth.
"If New York City last week was ‘one small step' for Computacenter, then our new €50m investment into our brand new Integration Centre and HQ offices in Kerpen is a ‘giant leap' which we are even more excited about! Congratulations to [CEO] Mike Norris [and Germany CEO] Reiner Louis for a seamless migration to the next stage of our journey in Germany," his post reads.
The new facility is Computacenter's fourth integration centre globally, joining existing locations in Hatfield, in the UK, Gonesse in France and a US centre in Newark.
"From our new headquarters in Kerpen, a location in the heart of Germany, we can offer tailor-made IT services for the whole of Europe. And the Integration Centre allows us to continue to grow and meet the rapidly growing demand for product supply and configuration services," said Louis.
"We now have the necessary flexibility for individual customer solutions and services, right through to maintenance, repair and recycling."
It marks the second location that Norris has officially opened in the last week alone. He cut the ribbon on a new office in New York City on Friday following its blockbuster acquisition of US reseller FusionStorm.
At the same time as the New York opening, Computacenter began trading from a new location in Germany last week after opening the doors on an office in Dresden near the Polish and Swiss border.
Computacenter is aiming to reach 200 employees in the Dresden office after starting out with an initial headcount of 60.
