SAP's head of cloud business exits
Robert Enslin is the latest in a line of executives to leave the vendor
SAP has bid farewell to its head of cloud business Robert Enslin who is leaving to pursue an "external opportunity".
Enslin joined the company in 1992 and was appointed the head of its cloud unit two years ago, having previously held the position of president of its global customer operations.
Enslin's exit is the latest in a stream of boardroom departures, including former CTO Bjoern Goerke, former global channel boss Rodolpho Cardenuto and Bernd Leukert who ran its global services and support.
In January, the firm announced it would be undergoing a restructure which would see it cut 4,400 jobs.
During his two-year stint overseeing the cloud business, Enslin oversaw the vendor's expansion of its cloud portfolio, including its recent $8bn acquisition of experience management software firm Qualtrics.
He will be replaced by SAP's president of North America Jennifer Morgan, who will take over the role immediately.
Adaire Fox-Martin has also been given sole responsibility for the organisation's global customer operations division.
"As I leave SAP for a new journey, I do so with unrivalled respect for the company and its amazing customers around the world," said Enslin.
SAP CEO Bill McDermott saluted Enslin for his nearly three decades at the company.
"He'll be a great champion for SAP in his new opportunity and a lifelong friend to me personally," he stated.
"With Jennifer Morgan and Adaire Fox-Martin moving up, we have two dynamic leaders who will help us take SAP to the next level.
"This transition gives us a clear path to continue simplifying the company. SAP's leadership team will drive greater operational efficiency, faster time to market, higher product quality and superior market fit, all while significantly improving margins.
"Our market-leading core ERP and high-growth cloud application portfolio make SAP a rarity in the enterprise software industry.
‘The Best Run SAP' is our motto, our maxim and our strategy to run the company with greater discipline and focus. I could not be more optimistic about SAP's road map to create value for our customers, employees and shareholders - a true Best-Run SAP."
