Insight appoints new EMEA boss to head up services arm
Karen Mclaughlin will lead a 250-strong team to drive up Insight's services division across Europe
Global reseller Insight has appointed a new EMEA VP to lead its beefed-up services division.
Former DXC Technology exec Karen Mclaughlin has been drafted in to lead a 250-strong team. She said that Insight's "entrepreneurial spirit" will help its services division continue to grow across the continent.
At the end of last year, Insight revealed that it plans to strengthen its as-a-service business by hiring 200 specialists to its European arm over the next 12 months.
At the time it pledged $10m (€8.8m) of investment to, among other things, sourcing the best talent.
"There are multiple opportunities to drive services growth across the region and help clients manage their operations more efficiently as well as transform and innovate," Mclaughlin (pictured) said in a statement.
"With increasing demand for cloud and managed services, I'm focused on ensuring we can scale to meet changing client needs."
One of Mclaughlin's tasks will be to continue to find the right talent to make good on those goals.
Commenting on Mclaughlin's appointment, Ebermann said her experience of scaling IT services will help Insight demonstrate its commitment to offering localised-as-a-service support to European clients.
"Traditional outsourcing and managed services organisations continue to focus heavily on utilising traditional skill sets which often lack the agility clients are looking for to accelerate their transformation," he said.
"Karen's experience and passion to drive digitalisation forward will allow us to deliver truly customer-centric services that our clients need today."
