Computacenter bids emotional farewell to long-serving chairman

Greg Lock is replaced by former HPE and IBM boss Peter Ryan

Computacenter has bid an emotional farewell to departing chairman Greg Lock, led by CEO Mike Norris and UK boss Neil Hall.

Lock's retirement was announced in March, with the veteran receiving a hero's goodbye as he left Computacenter's Blackfriars office for the last time.

Lock had been Computacenter's chairman for 11 years, and received warm praise from Norris when his exit was confirmed.

"I thank Greg personally and on behalf of the company for his enthusiasm, commitment and great leadership during his time as chairman," Norris said.

Lock will be replaced by former HPE and IBM boss Peter Ryan.

In other changes to the board, Computacenter has appointed Dr Ljiljana Mitic as a non-executive director.

Mitic has more than 25 years' experience in the IT industry, having previously worked at Atos, Siemens and Hewlett Packard.

On Mitic's appointment, new chairman Peter Ryan said: "I am pleased to welcome Ljiljana to our board. Her successful management of, and significant sales expertise within, large global technology enterprises, particularly in the financial services markets, will be an asset to our board and the company.

"Ljiljana's experience within our core western European geographies, particularly France and Germany, will complement the skills and background of our other board members."
