Deal sees IBM specialist Recarta gain accreditations with vendors including AWS and Microsoft
IBM partner Recarta IT has acquired virtualisation and cloud specialist Möbius Business Technologies to bolster its vendor line-up.
Founded in 2010, Möbius holds Silver partner accreditations with Microsoft, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and Veeam, and brings a number of new vendors into Recarta's portfolio.
Recarta MD Daren Bland said: "Over the last 10 years Möbius Business Technologies has built a reputation for providing excellent IT virtualisation and technical support to a host of world-leading brands.
"The acquisition of Möbius Business Technologies enhances our IT infrastructure and managed service capability into new IT vendor areas such as HP, AWS, Microsoft and Mimecast."
Recarta IT was ranked 263 in CRN's VAR 300 report (available to CRN Essential subscribers) with sales of £9.2m for the year ending 31 March 2018.
Möbius, meanwhile, saw sales rocket over 50 per cent to £6.5m during the year ending 31 January 2019.
Recarta said it will have over 300 SMB and enterprise customers as a result of the acquisition, while further diversifying its product set, having previously been known as an IBM-centric partner.
Steve Sexton, Mobius managing director, said: "We are excited to join the Recarta family as we combine our enterprise expertise and service capabilities.
"This is an excellent fit culturally and builds on the service excellence and customer support which is at the heart of both companies.
"We look forward to introducing our clients to the additional skills and services that Recarta has to offer, including its hosted and remote managed services, software asset management and deep IBM technical capabilities."
