Louth is Logicalis' choice for new UK MD

Alex Louth will over see restructuring of UK business

Logicalis has appointed Alex Louth to head up the restructuring of its UK business.

Louth succeeds Bob Swallow, who left the role earlier this year when the company announced it would be restructuring its UK wing.

Louth was previously managing director of Oracle Platinum partner Red Stack Tech, and has spent the past couple of years overseeing its integration into multicloud MSP Data Intensity, which acquired it in 2016.

"Logicalis has a great name globally, but especially in the UK, and working with the team here really appealed to me," he said.

"The marketplace is changing and there's a great opportunity to establish ourselves as a trusted long-term value partner to our customers, helping them navigate ongoing business and technology change through engagements driven by much greater levels of intimacy, customer experience and service provision.

"The business has been restructured and re-energised, and I'm excited to work with the management team to ensure we increase our value to customers and the revenue growth that will come from that."

He will report directly to Ruediger Rath, Logicalis's head of Europe, who told CRN earlier this year that the UK arm was underperforming and it would be undergoing a restructure that could result in job losses.

In Logicalis' last financial year ending 28 February 2018, UK net losses narrowed from £8.6m to £2.7m on revenues that declined 7.5 per cent to £107.9m.

Rath said that it would be strengthening in areas such as software-defined, hybrid cloud and automation.

"Alex's reputation for innovation, his entrepreneurial spirit and his passion for employee and customer experience made him the ideal candidate to lead the UK business into the future," stated Rath.

"We look forward to supporting him and his leadership team in their ambition to create an organisation that is one step ahead of the demands of our customers."
