Atos inks $150m deal with National Grid

Multi-year contract will see SI deliver managed workplace services to National Grid employees

Atos has signed a multi-year contract worth $150m (£118.8m) with National Grid.

The deal will see the systems integrator (SI) deliver digital managed workplace services for National Grid's core business, which encompasses the UK and parts of the US.

The National Grid is a multinational electricity and gas utility company headquartered in the UK. It is the electricity system operator for Britain, and also owns the national gas transmission network.

Atos will deliver its managed workplace services to improve employee experience and service at National Grid.

It will provide employees with a support network, including a global enterprise service desk, device management and printing services, along with a Proactive Experience Centre.

This centre will be a hub for employee-improvement resources with a focus on integrating automation and AI solutions.

"We chose Atos primarily because they shared our vision for digital end-user excellence," said Adriana Karaboutis, group CIO at National Grid.

"Atos has an excellent reputation with other leading UK and US companies and I am excited about our partnership and the transformation ahead."

Adrian Gregory, CEO for UK and Ireland at Atos, said: "We very much look forward to working with National Grid to achieve a step-change in employee and, ultimately, end-user experience through a true partnership with Atos.

"The comprehensive plan of improvements underpinned by innovative technologies will have a positive impact right across the organisation, enabling National Grid to work smartly and more efficiently ."
