UK distie intY acquired by ScanSource

ScanSource says move will help bolster its recurring revenue

ScanSource has acquired UK-based cloud services distributor intY in a bid to boost its recurring revenue offer.

Based in Bristol, intY has a cloud aggregation and distribution platform called CASCADE.

ScanSource says it provides partners with another way of selling strategic cloud services from the VAD's principal vendors such as Microsoft, Symantec, and Acronis.

"This gives sales partners market-leading capabilities to aid in the growth of their recurring revenue practices," the company said in a statement.

"ScanSource is creating additional value for sales partners - whether they are launching a cloud practice or seeking new ways to maximise revenues from existing or net-new subscriptions.

"CASCADE takes the friction out of acquiring, provisioning and managing as-a-service offerings."

For its latest available full year accounts - full-year 2017 - intY logged revenues of £12.49m, and profits after tax of £3.86m.

ScanSource CEO Mike Baur added that intY's CASCADE Partner Insights tool will also help partners to better sell and manage their recurring revenue business.

"CASCADE serves as the next piece in our continuing digital strategy and provides partners with critical capabilities, including software provisioning, data analytics, seat management, billing and support, so partners can sell more strategic cloud solutions and build strong recurring revenue practices," he said.

Last year, ScanSource's president of international operations, Paul Constantine, told CPI that he saw one of the top opportunities in 2019 for the VAD's partners as being the growing UcaaS and CcaaS (contact centre as-a-service) offerings.
