Altodigital acquisition marks start of M&A spree

The managed print provider has acquired Bedfordshire-based Platinum

Print specialist Altodigital has acquired Bedfordshire-based IT support services firm Platinum to kickstart an M&A spree.

M&A will play a big part in the managed print provider's plan to achieve 25 per cent growth in the next three years, according to business manager Stewart Abrahart (pictured, left).

He added that Altodigital expects to make one more acquisition this year and has several more in the pipeline.

Altodigital has a headcount of 492 and ranked 49th in CRN's Top VARs 2018, reporting revenue of £71.2m for the year ending 30 September 2018.

"We've known Platinum's managing director, Sean Foster, for a number of years, and he and his team have an established reputation for high-quality service," he stated.

"Platinum specialises in the automotive industry and has about 10 per cent of the UK market. Within Altodigital we want to expand and with our backing, Platinum can increase its market share.

"The partnership is already paying off and Sean has had some big wins."

Sean Foster, Platinum MD, said: "Going forward, Altodigital is the biggest business solutions dealer in the UK.

"We have an excellent relationship with Lexmark, which is one of Altodigital's smaller brands. Connecting with them is a good fit all round and there is a good opportunity for both businesses to grow."
