Ultima wins Citrix certification for RPA tool that replaces 'painful' process

CEO Scott Dodds says previous method of automating on Citrix was incredibly difficult

Ultima has been awarded Citrix certification for a robotic process automation (RPA) tool which it says supersedes an old system that was "so painful".

IA-Connect enables fast and secure automation of business processes over Citrix Cloud and Citrix virtual applications and desktop sessions, Ultima says.

CEO Scott Dodds claimed that the tool simplifies a process that has typically been very difficult to implement by providing a bridge between the remote desktop and the server.

"We had a few customers who had actively decided not to automate their business processes because they were nervous about using cloud-based RPA and the old process for automation over Citrix was so painful," he said.

"Now, with IA-Connect we can securely and simply automate their business processes three times faster than previously.

"A first in the market, it's opening up access to automation for Citrix users where before they weren't comfortable with the security implications or the automation was too complex, costly and time-consuming to do. We're delighted we have gained Citrix certification for the tool as it shows we have a product that works and does what it should."

Ultima said that the RPA tool allows a virtual developer to "create automations in practically the same manner as a 'local' automation development, without needing to resort to screen scraping or surface automation".

This reduces the development time and robustness of the processes, it explained, while also cutting down the maintenance and support required.

Ultima is one of six Citrix Platinum partners in the UK, according to the vendor's partner locator.
