Insight completes PCM acquisition
Blockbuster deal was announced in June
Insight has completed its $580m acquisition of fellow US reseller PCM.
The surprise deal was announced in June this year, and sees Insight boost its presence in the US, Canada and the UK.
Insight CEO Ken Lemneck: "We want to welcome the PCM team to the Insight family. Bringing our businesses together will strengthen our competitive position.
"Together, we have a significant opportunity to help organizations leverage technology in a strategic manner by providing access to the right resources to architect, implement, manage and execute transformation initiatives from end to end."
At the time of the acquisition, Insight said the rationale behind the deal was it give it a stronger foothold in the US mid-market - where PCM has typically operated.
PCM brings more than 2,700 employees to the Insight business, and triples its workforce in Canada.
The deal raised eyebrows when first announced, going against Insight's recent acquisition strategy of moving for smaller businesses with services capabilities or software development credentials.
But chief exec Lamneck said that PCM's customer base will allow it to take its solutions down into smaller businesses, where Insight has typically been less prominent.
PCM's branding has remained on its website, with its logo now featuring the line "a division of Insight".
